From the product's birth to the end of its life
Our job is to design and offer to consumers across the whole world solutions in terms of Small Household Appliances to improve their daily lives. We sell six products per second in 150 countries and we "launch" more than 250 new products per year.
Groupe SEB takes into account respect for the environment at every stage in the lifecycle of its products, from initial research (eco-design) to processing products at their end-of-life and including manufacturing (eco-production), transport (eco-logistics) and use by the consumer.
In environmental terms, one of the major challenges is to reduce the ecological footprint of products. The Group innovates constantly to diminish their energy consumption, to make them ever more suitable for recycling and repair, and to use more recycled materials. To do so, Groupe SEB set itself 4 environmental commitments to be met by 2020:
• 20% less energy consumption by electrical goods;
• 20% less energy consumption by production plants;
• at least 20% recycled materials in new products;
• 20% less greenhouse gas emissions from transporting products (per unit transported).
