In 2012, the ESSEC Business School Consumer Products Department and the Aviso Endowment Fund launched the first edition of the “ESSEC Responsible Consumption Awards”.

This award, which is backed by the French Ministry of Industrial Renewal, is intended to spotlight the most deserving initiatives carried out by consumer goods manufacturers in France in the field of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

A jury consisting of well-known experts in environmental, social and industrial issues and in consumer goods chose the best initiative in 6 different areas including energy management and solidarity.

Despite competing against giants such as Danone, Coca-Cola or Ferrero, Groupe SEB was singled out for the “Employment and Personal Development” Award for its training program and validation of prior experience for low skilled employees. These actions of promoting employability benefited nearly 1,200 employees to date.
