Sustainable Development in Groupe SEB’s policy
Companies are economic entities that inherently must create profit to stay alive. So they must be competitive in their markets and offer their shareholders a decent return on their investment to guarantee their backing and loyalty and maintain the company’s ability to invest in the long-term. That’s why innovation, which ensures the creation of value, is at the core of Groupe SEB’s strategy and guarantees its leadership in the small household appliances market.
But today, being profitable is not enough. The quality of a company’s social and environmental policy is a factor in its long-term success and helps it to operate in a healthy way. Social imbalances or irrational exploitation of natural resources might bring about unwanted effects and even jeopardise its future. Companies need a long-term vision of their impact on people and the environment.
That’s why Groupe SEB made a very early commitment to sustainable development, adopting ethical standards that are economically profitable, socially equitable and ecologically responsible. This approach to progress must be present at all the company’s levels and on every continent.
Groupe SEB wants to be an active player in sustainable development and has set attainable goals to achieve, with all its employees and partners, with the aim of building a better future.
