BREATHE!

BREATHE!
Every day, we breathe around 10,000 litres of air without even thinking about it. That’s over 12kg! Obviously, the quality of this air is vitally important.

Air, air !

We spend 80% of our time indoors and most of the time asleep. A major European study has shown that indoor air contains up to ten times more VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds) than outdoor air(1). Following this, France has launched a pioneer project setting up the OQAI (indoor air quality observatory) which has confirmed this data and has highlighted the lack of ventilation in the majority of homes(2). This often has serious effects on the occupants’ health: cases of asthma and allergies are particularly on the increase, affecting 25 to 30% of the population in industrialised countries.

Different types of air pollutant

Every day, in our homes and at work, although we may think we are shielded from atmospheric pollution, we are actually affected by many different harmful substances. Three types of air pollutant with potentially harmful effects on our health have been identified:

  • physical pollutants: hair and dust which can carry additional pollutants in more or less fine particles.
  • biological pollutants: animal allergens, house dust mites, mould, pollen and bacteria.
  • chemical pollutants: tobacco smoke, VOCs from paint, carpet, glue, varnish, furniture and cleaning products, and exhaust fumes from outdoors.

Intense Pure Air, the solution

Intense Pure Air ™ from Rowenta will purify a 70 m² room in around 1 hour. The air purifier is easy to use, quick and efficient. It can be plugged in anywhere in the house..

The air passes through 3 filters:.

  • 1 pre-filter blocks the largest particles.
  • 1 carbon filter stops combustion products and VOCs.
  • 1 HEPA (high efficiency particulate air) filter removes the finest particles, which are the most difficult to eliminate.

The “Auto” function is an important function of the appliance. By using the integral dust filter, the product can in fact adjust its ventilation speed to the level of pollution in the room. The collector allows particles measuring more than 1 μm to be detected using an infrared reflection system.

Really easy to use, Intense Pure Air can be used in every room of the house, even in sleeping room during the night thanks to its extremely low level of noise (38 dB(A) in position 1)..
