Groupe SEB India donates room heaters to COVID-19 care centers

Groupe SEB India actively participated in helping people whose lives were impacted due to the COVID-19 crisis. In June, employees organized food donations for contractual workers. This month, the Group extended its support to the COVID-19 centers and provided 25 Halogen Room Heaters.

In the industrial hub of the Baddi – Barotiwala - Nalagarh belt in India, hostels have been converted into COVID-19 care centers due to space constraints in hospitals. Workers returning to this area and being tested positive for the virus, are being accommodated in these dedicated labor transit hostels. Due to the winter temperatures, there is a need of installing extra heaters and Groupe SEB India received a request to sponsor room heaters to keep the accommodations warm. 25 Halogen room heaters were provided following the request of the Sub Divisional Magistrate in Nalagarh, located at 13kms from our Groupe SEB India plant.

Upon reception of the products, the Sub Divisional Magistrate of Nalahgarh provided an official letter expressing their gratitude to Groupe SEB India and acknowledging having well received the goods at the center. Additionally, they are now also exploring the possibility of setting up more quarantine centers in the area.
