RESPECT FOR ETHICS

Our main ethical drive is to apply the prevailing laws in each of our operating countries.

We also comply with international rules, including: 

  • the United Nations Global Compact
  • the principles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR)
  • the fundamental conventions of the International Labor Organization (ILO)
  • the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) guidelines for multinational companies
  • the European Committee of Domestic Equipment Manufacturers (CECED) code of conduct.

A GLOBAL CODE OF ETHICS

Over the last 10 years, Groupe SEB has more than doubled in size, acquiring several companies (including EMSA and WMF in 2016 and Wilbur Curtis in 2018), and has become an increasingly international group. It now has more than 30,000 employees around the world, with around two-thirds of its workforce located outside of Europe. Since a common culture and a shared set of values are essential​ to a successful ethical approach, Groupe SEB has structured and formalized its policy in the form of a Code of Ethics, which was drafted in 2012. Translated into the Group’s 11 main languages, it has been distributed to all employees worldwide and is now available online on the Group’s intranet. RESPECT FOR HUMAN RIGHTS

An integral part of our code of ethics, the respect for human rights is one of our key commitments, underscored by the signature of the United Nations Global Compact in 2003. In addition to training for our international human resources managers, since 2007 we have led a policy on assessing the practices of our subsidiaries with more than ten staff members.​

Responsible purchasing

RESPONSIBLE PURCHASING

Because all our products must be made under ethical conditions, our procurement policy is guided by information and control mechanisms. These ensure compliance with ethical, social, and environmental requirements by our suppliers.​

This policy includes:​

  • A charter for responsible procurement​
  • Tools for assessing the suppliers' CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) during selection and monitoring​
  • Ethical, social, and environmental audits.

Lutte contre la corruption

ANTI-CORRUPTION MEASURES​

Since 2013, this topic has been incorporated into the global Code of Ethics. It is explicitly stated that Groupe SEB strongly prohibits any form of corruption in its dealings with business partners, institutions, and governmental entities.​
