The Groupe SEB plant at Selongey winner of the 'France Relance' plan

At the end of an instruction process carried by ADEME (Agency for the Environment and Energy Management), “Cocotte Energie” project of Selongey plant was selected by the State as the one of the winners of call for projects "Decarbonisation of processes and utilities in industry" of recovery plan 'France Relance'. The 3.7 M€ investment required for this project receives a grant around 1 M€.

As the historic birthplace of Groupe SEB, the Selongey plant has been designing and manufacturing stainless steel and aluminium pressure cookers and cookware since 1953. “Cocotte Energie” project aims for primary energy savings of 3,700 MWh per year, i.e. an overall reduction of about 11% in energy consumption. This project aims to replace:

  • three washing/degreasing tunnels between 2022 and 2026,
  • a thermal fluid boiler with condensation boilers,
  • and the installation of fatal heat recovery on air compressors.

The targeted reduction of 660 tonnes of CO2 equivalent emissions per year – which represents approximately 26% of Selongey's total emissions – is in line with the Group's ambition to achieve a 60% reduction in its emissions by 2030 and to participate in the national effort to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050.
