In its ongoing efforts to revamp logistics, Groupe SEB is bolstering its presence in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté by commissioning a state-of-the-art platform in Til-Châtel. This site is part of a global logistics investment plan of more than 110 million euros, initiated with the opening of the Bully-les-Mines (62) giga-platform in 2023.
With this new platform, Groupe SEB affirms its choice of efficient logistics combined with environmental excellence, connected to its roots and looking to the future.
The Til-Châtel platform, which encompasses 36,000 square meters, is conveniently located near the key motorway networks and a few kilometers from the Group's historic production facilities. Featuring six units, each measuring 6,000 m² and standing 13 meters tall, this storage solution can hold up to 52,000 pallets of culinary items that do not require any electrical supply.
Certified BREEAM Excellent, this facility meets the highest environmental standards. It is operated by Rhenus Group, a long-standing partner of Groupe SEB.
Logistics designed for efficiency and growth
Equipped with 37 automatic dock doors, 36 spaces for heavy goods vehicles and 138 spaces for light vehicles, the platform plans to accommodate more than 60 employees by 2026, divided into two teams. It will be the scene of a daily flow of 50 trucks bound for France, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands and Austria.
Local roots, European ambition
The Group's logistical center of gravity was optimized by choosing Til-Châtel, whose situation provides strategically beneficial advantages. The project was made possible thanks to the involvement of local elected officials and effective institutional support.
A rapidly expanding national logistics system
As a reminder, Groupe SEB inaugurated a 100,000 m² platform in Bully-les-Mines (Hauts-de-France) in 2023, dedicated to its Small Household Appliances business. This site alone represents an investment of 80 million euros, and will accommodate up to 500 employees by 2030.
Groupe SEB is taking significant strides in its European logistics framework with Til-Châtel, aiming for increased agility, superior performance, and a strong commitment to environmental issues.
