World Children's Day

Télémaque institute

As part of its social and societal commitments, Groupe SEB supports the education of the most disadvantaged children. On the occasion of World Children's Day, let's have a closer look at some of these initiatives.

In France, the Group is committed in the “Télémaque institute” - of which Thierry de La Tour d'Artaise is President of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes branch- which supports motivated and deserving youngsters from disadvantaged backgrounds from the age of 13 to 18. The young people selected benefit from financial support and dual tutoring from an educational supervisor and a company tutor (volunteer employee of a business). The Group has nearly 20 employees who are volunteer tutors.

In a similar spirit, several Group employees are committed to the success of young people in priority education middle school through the “Energie Jeunes programme”. Their interventions at school aim to develop the perseverance of 11-15-year-olds by helping them to believe in their abilities, fully engage in their education and learn good habits.

In China, SUPOR has also been running the "SUPOR Schools" program since 2006, with the aim of giving underprivileged children from isolated regions in China access to quality education.
In total, SUPOR has already financed the construction of 23 schools that have enabled the schooling of approximately 20,000 children. An additional elementary school, currently under construction in Guizhou, will be inaugurated on December 3

Life Project 4 Youth

The Group also undertakes many other initiatives. This is the case in Vietnam and India with the Life Project 4 Youth to foster the social and professional integration of young people in extremely precarious situations and victims of exclusion, or in South America through support for disadvantaged families.

In all the countries where it operates, Groupe SEB encourages the involvement of its employees in solidarity initiatives, through actions led by subsidiaries. The fight against exclusion undeniably involves schools, so that every child receives the same education. It is at the heart of our sponsorship policy.
