The story begins in 1901. Passionate visionaries, Carlo Lagostina and his son Emilio decided to start manufacturing tinplated cutlery in Omegna, Italy. Lagostina was born and has grown steadily through the years and innovations: 1929, discovery of stainless steel at the Milan Fair; 1934, "Casa Mia" first stainless steel collection; 1955, the Thermoplan® base; 1961, the pressure cooker with flexible lid; 1983, the Lagoplan® base; 1998, the 5-ply technology (Accademia). In 2005, following the acquisition by Groupe SEB, Lagostina took an important step towards modern industrialization, becoming even more competitive in a globalized marketplace.
Lagostina has also launched "La Linea Patrimonio", a set of elegantly designed, high-performance and user-friendly dishes and utensils combining stainless steel and cherry wood, specially designed to prepare Italian specialties: the Risottiera to make risottos a success every time, the Lasagnera to enjoy lasagna as in Italy or the Pizza Stone to enjoy crispy pizzas. And to cook real Italian pasta, nothing like Pastaïola! Made at our Omegna site in Italy, its latest generation Lagofusion® base ensures excellent heat diffusion and perfectly even cooking. Its lid with cherry wood enhances the elegance of the Pastaïola, and the patented stainless steel pasta basket allows quick and effortless draining. Compatible with all heat sources including induction heating and 25 year guarantee, with the Pastaïola, cook perfect pasta!
After more than 100 years of history, successes and challenges, Lagosina remains focused on the future, combining innovation, a fundamental pillar of its history, with the tradition that makes it great. The taste for sharing and conviviality around the table and the “Italian pleasure of fine cooking” represent Lagostina's essence, together with its constant attention for the quality of materials, the reliability of performance and the Italian style made up of elegance and simplicity.
Lagostina was twice recognized as one of the top brands for the "Best Home Brands" ranking published in the French Capital magazine last September. The survey conducted among a panel of 6,500 French consumers measured their satisfaction with the brands. We came first in the "Saucepans and Frying Pans" category and second in the "Pressure Cookers" category. The design and quality of our products were praised by the panel. Great recognition for the French team!
