Tefal, a brand of the Groupe SEB, is partnering with La Poste to increase the capacity of its unique collection and recycling network for end-of-life kitchen utensils, from all brands. A pioneering initiative that transforms a used pan into a new pan, completing the production chain in a 100% circular, local and industrial logic. Tefal has already recycled more than 2 million pans since 2012. Thanks to this nationwide partnership with La Poste, the objective is now to collect 20 million pans by 2027.
To ensure accessible collection for everyone, the system relies on La Poste's unique proximity network. Starting mid-October 2025, every French citizen will be within 15 minutes of a collection point and will be able to drop off their used utensils near their home thanks to a network of 1,700 collection points including 945 postal sites. The program has already proven successful during a trial in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. The collection will be gradually extended to the entire territory. The deployment will continue in the overseas territories in 2026, with first installations planned in the Indian Ocean, the Caribbean and French Guiana.
In addition to postal sites, French citizens will also be able to drop off their utensils in a multi-channel network consisting of: • Voluntary recycling centers • Home & Cook stores and factory outlets • Partner distributors during commercial operations (Carrefour, Boulanger, Auchan, Darty, Système U, Intermarché, Leclerc...), • Emmaüs and local resource centers. All collection points can be consulted via the interactive online map at https://www.tefal.fr This initiative prevents used pans from ending up in the wrong sorting channels (gray bin or yellow bin) and guarantees their recycling in a controlled industrial loop. This recycling saves more than 90% of CO2 compared to virgin aluminum production.
With this initiative, we affirm our commitment to making the circular economy accessible to everyone, while guaranteeing efficient and responsible recycling processes. This is a key step in implementing our ESG strategy 2024-2030 and a strong commitment to strengthen French industrial sovereignty in a context of ecological transition. I want to thank all the teams who worked to make this project a reality.
Thierry de La Tour d'Artaise, President of Groupe SEB
Beyond a logistical or environmental system, this operation embodies the meeting of two brands deeply rooted in French life: Tefal and La Poste, symbols of trust, service and innovation. They unite today to respond to a collective aspiration to consume better and recycle better.
This partnership with Tefal fully illustrates the role that La Poste intends to play in the ecological transition. By putting our proximity network at the service of an innovative collection and recycling network, we concretely contribute to the circular economy and the promotion of made in France. It is by acting together, operationally and rooted in the territories, that we will advance responsible practices.
