Simon de Cyrène shared houses

SIMON DE CYRENE

Shared houses

Shared houses

Develop "communities", places for shared living between people with and without disabilities in which each individual chooses freely to live with a view to boosting empowerment.

At the "shared houses" developed by the Simon de Cyrène organization, people having suffered serious accidents and now faced with isolation and solitude owing to their disability can find new meaning, receive emotional and psychological support, and rebuild their abilities and autonomy.

SIMON DE CYRENE

Each individual in a shared house is "at home without being alone" in a pleasant, human-sized living space. Residents with and without disabilities develop shared activity spaces (guest tables, artist workshops, film clubs, etc.) that nourish the life of the neighborhood and town.

The Groupe SEB Fund provided financial support and donated cooking products and small household appliances to equip two new shared houses in Dijon.
